Approach

Martha Graham famously said,
“the body never lies, and,
there’s only one of you.”

Getting Started

The first step is an individual assessment designed to uncover weaknesses and help you clarify your personal goals. I will praise your ability and courage, and craft a plan you will want to stick to. You will start by learning the fundamentals of stabilizing, breathing and correct form in supine, prone and lateral exercises. It may be challenging at first, but it becomes easier when your mind and body connect to the positive, grateful “you” that sticks with it.

What You Will Learn

Grateful Pilates is a graceful way to free-up your grip (muscle tightness), access your core and become a long, lean and not only strong, but well-formed machine. I believe in neutral spine, slow thoughtful repetitions, proper form and customized choreography. Bodies are NOT one size fits all! I will help you learn how to access your core, not by sucking in your stomach, instead by stabilizing your trunk, utilizing your breath and mindfully moving with gratitude.

Together we will work to:

  • Target your core and battle your weaknesses
  • Eliminate faulty mechanics before they sideline you
  • Enhance your body’s fluidity
  • Keep biomechanics in check and injuries at bay
  • Develop strategies to enhance your physical function
  • Integrate your total body power into everything you do
